What is a heatmap?
A picture of your page coloured by attention. Warm colours show where lots of people click or stop; cool colours show what they skip. A scroll map shows how far down people get before they leave.
Learn more about heatmapsWhat is a session recording?
A replay of one real session, like looking over a visitor’s shoulder: where they moved, what they clicked, where they got stuck. Passwords and form entries are hidden automatically.

A fair way to compare two versions of a page. Visitors are split at random, so the only difference between the groups is your change, and Cuttl tells you when one version clearly wins.
Learn more about A/B testingWhat is a funnel?
The steps people take to do something, like product page, cart, checkout, paid. A funnel shows how many people make it through each step, so the biggest drop jumps out.
Learn more about funnelsWhat are rage clicks and dead clicks?
A rage click is when someone taps the same spot again and again because nothing happened. A dead click is a click on something that does nothing. Both are signs that something is broken or confusing.

For changes that can’t be split-tested, or pages without the traffic for an A/B test. Cuttl compares the pages you changed with the rest of your site, before and after the change, so a busy week or a slow month doesn’t fool you.

Add the Cuttl Tag
Paste the Cuttl Tag into your site’s head, or through your site builder’s settings. It takes a few minutes.
Watch it fill in
Recordings and heatmaps start as soon as visitors arrive. There’s nothing to set up page by page.
See what’s wrong
Cuttl flags problems like broken buttons or a form people quit, ranked by severity, with how many sessions each affects.
Fix it, then check
Make a change, then test it against the old version, or let Cuttl compare before and after.
Frequently asked questions
Who is Cuttl for?
Marketing, product, growth and CRO teams, from businesses with one site to agencies and companies running many. Installing it means adding the Cuttl Tag, a short piece of code, and every finding comes with the evidence behind it and a ranking of what to fix first.
What is a heatmap?
A heatmap is a picture of a web page coloured by attention: warm colours where many visitors click or linger, cool colours where they don’t. A scroll heatmap shows how far down the page people get before they leave.
What is a session recording, and is it private?
A session recording replays one session, showing where a visitor clicked, scrolled and got stuck. Cuttl hides form entries by default, never stores visitors’ IP addresses, and doesn’t record login, checkout or payment pages.
What is an A/B test?
An A/B test shows two versions of a page to different visitors at random and measures which one gets more people to sign up, book or buy. Because the split is random, the difference comes from your change.
How many visitors do I need?
Heatmaps and recordings are useful from your first visitors. A/B tests need more traffic to give a clear answer, and Cuttl’s planner tells you how long a test would take. For lower-traffic pages, Cuttl compares before and after instead.
What kinds of websites does Cuttl work on?
Any website where you can add the Cuttl Tag to the page’s head: online stores, SaaS apps, booking sites, blogs, course sites and more. Single-page apps built with React, Vue or Next.js work too.
